Life Update- August 10, 2023
Hi everyone! We hope you all are doing well and we are sorry we have not posted an update on this page in a while. We wanted to post today with the intent of sharing some important yet difficult news with you.
The course of the past two years have been a series of ups and downs for us as I’m sure you all know as you’ve followed our family’s journey here in Romania. Even though we’ve seen many difficult days, the Lord has used these challenges and struggles to strengthen our faith and trust in Him. He has been our Provider, Comforter, Protector, and a host of other things that only our Father could be.
With that being said, after a series of events that have unfolded over the course of this summer, we believe the Lord is clearly closing the door on our time here in Bucharest. Brooke and I have both been in prayer seeking the Lord’s guidance and peace as we’ve gone through this trying season, and although we are heartbroken and devastated to be leaving, we truly feel that this is what is best for us and our family.
We have loved many things about our time in Romania. We have met so many amazing people who have loved and cared for our family so well. We have had the privilege of learning a new language and culture that has only changed us and shaped us for the better. We have grown as a family and, most importantly, the Lord has only deepened our desire to share the Gospel, and we have loved doing that here in Bucharest.
Although we do not fully understand God’s plan, we are trusting Him as we close out this chapter of our lives here in Romania, and look ahead to what is next. Thank you all so much for all the ways in which you have partnered with us and supported us over the last two years. We have appreciated every prayer, message, call, and gift just to name a few.
Please continue to pray for our family as we grieve the loss of our life here in Bucharest, and begin to make the transition back to the States. We are in the process of selling everything we own, and packing just enough to bring back on the plane with us. Our leave date is the week of August 28th and we will be residing in Huntersville, NC for the next few months while we search for jobs and reacclimate to living in America. We are very appreciative of our sending church, Christ Community Church, for providing us with a place to stay while we figure these things out. Please specifically pray for our children as this is a very difficult time for them. Pray that the Lord would give us strength to be the parents that they need through this transition while we ourselves process and walk this path forward.
We would love to sit down with you over coffee or a meal once we return to share about our time here in Bucharest and answer any questions you may have. Thank you so much for your prayers and support throughout our journey. We are thankful for you.
